Think monolith, plunge into stereo, feel the tingling. This is a (new) project from the mastermind behind such acts as Girnų Giesmės, Budrūs, Nulis:s:s:s, and Svaixt. Each of them represents a unique niche of music, and this one is no exception. VĖLU (or "It's late" in English) moves towards a more extreme direction, but this extremity is not kind of aggressive. This is more of totality and prolonged moments of awe. When realization strikes with the size of it. When flashing wings of glory ("Šlovė" in Lithuanian) reconstructs the space of everyday existence and one percept the Wholeness. Four tracks on the border of something that could be called even a harsh noise wall, but all of this has an ambient/drone quality. A distant movement in the background included. One can think about standing on the mountain and realizing the glory of all this, which is actually too overwhelming to downgrade it down to the level of petty words. This is the reason this CD is quite a minimalist even from the visual side, but there's always More than it is.

Soft abrasive weights in neither minor nor major. Just glory.

Laurynas Jukonis - ilgamečio projekto Girnų Giesmės autorius, dalyvaujantis ir saujoje kitų: Budrūs, Nulis:s:s:s bei Svaixt. Kiekvienas jų užima unikalią skambesio nišą, ne išimtis ir naujasis. VĖLU juda tolyn, link garsinių paribių; perlipa tą nematomą liniją, ties kuria pastarųjų koncertų metu balansuodavo Girnų Giesmės. Šis įrašas tarsi liudija patirties/suvokimo monolitiškumą, jo apibrėžtinų ribų nebuvimą. Viskas dėl tokių ištikčių didybės, o kas gi gali geriau rezonuoti su didybe, jeigu ne šlovė. Keturi kūriniai, plačiu žingsniu įžengiantys į garsinę sferą, apsireiškiančia netgi harsh noise wall pavidalu. Podraug viskas pripildyta ambient/drone keliasluoksniškumo bei gelmėse judančių struktūrų. Galima tai palyginti su stovėjimu ant kalno viršūnės, bandant suvokti viso to šlovingumą, tačiau šis yra pernelyg pritrenkiantis, idant leistųsi nužeminamas iki kasdienybės žodyno. Pačio CD dizainas - taipogi minimalistinis, atliepiantis garsynui. Tiek, jog reikia turėti omenyje, kad už šito visuomet slypi kažkas Daugiau.

Vėlinės šiomis dienomis. Vėlu. Ir plazdanti šlovė.
